Specialized Training

A few examples are: Law Enforcement Bicycle Association (LEBA) Instructor Training and Certification, Barnett Bicycle Maintenance Certification, Canadian Crowd Control Certification. Additionally whenever a basic LEBA bike school is conducted by one of our certified trainers, the PBSG provides funding for study manuals and refreshments. Over the past couple of decades, dozens of Fort Worth Police Officers have been LEBA certified because of the funding provided by the PBSG.

As a consequence of this excellent training afforded our Officers, Fort Worth has one of the most skilled bike units in the country. Many law enforcement organizations from around the state of Texas have sent their officers to our LEBA certified training schools conducted by our instructors. In addition, several of our Bike Officers were invited to provide security at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2012. This year our Bike Officers have been invited to participate in the security of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. This is evidence how our Bike Team is highly regarded for their skills and expertise.
