Officer Spotlight - JT Dawley

Officer JT Dawley
Downtown Bike Patrol
Officer 13 yrs, New to Bike Patrol

What is your favorite part about being on Bike Patrol?

My favorite part of being on bike patrol is the ability to enjoy coming to work every day and enjoying what I do while I’m at work. I love being able to conduct Police work and being able to exercise at the same time. It is a very flexible unit filled with a great group of people to work with. The fact that we get to do our jobs on a bicycle just enhances everything. Due to the limited number of officers we have on the team, the camaraderie that we have with one another is a perk too.

What would you like citizens to know about bike patrol?

We are a very dedicated group who enjoy being around each other and working as a team to keep the citizens and businesses of downtown safe. We are always here to serve the citizens of Fort Worth and the community, no matter the problem.

How do you handle the Texas heat?

The best way to handle the Texas heat is to stay hydrated and take breaks as often as possible indoors.

What is your favorite bike/cop movie?

My favorite Cop movie is Die Hard.

Describe your perfect day on patrol.

A perfect day on patrol is a day when I come to work and get greeted with a smile and a thank you by all the citizens as I pass them on the street. We are working hard to increase community relations and public perception each and every day.

A day where the temperature isn’t too warm and there are no problems.

Any day that we can positively interact with the Public makes our day easier and better.
