Fort Worth Police officers attended the International Police Mountain Bike Association conference in Delaware Ohio
For the first time, three Fort Worth Police officers from the Central Bike Unit attended the International Police Mountain Bike Association conference in Delaware Ohio, which was held June 7 through June 10th, 2017. Over 400 mountain bike officers attended this conference from the United States and Canada. This conference held several mountain bike schools from, basic certification, instructor, advance bike riding and crowd management and control using mountain bike officers. There were several other work shops that included, Night Life in your entertainment districts, tourism, traffic stops, bike mechanics and several drill exercises and competitions using the police mountain bike. We were able to meet officers from all over the country and are excited that we will be able to bring a lot of new training to all our Fort Worth Bike Officers and other bike offices in our area.
On Friday Night the conference held a bike skills and riding completion which FWPD Bike Officer Joey Spragins took first place in and also took first place in a team competition ride where he teamed up with New York City PD. Officer Spragins won these events riding a brand new Volcanic Mountain Bike purchased for us by the Bike Support Group.
The Central Bike Unit would like take this opportunity and thank the BGS for their support and making it possible for us to attend this conference.
